Sustainability report 2023

Digitalization to simplify work processes. That is our vision.

KAMMACHI accelerates, simplifies and optimizes work processes with digital solutions. Together with our employees, partners and customers, we work on the sustainable implementation of this vision - and measure our success against these indicators and goals.

Our Employees

Our goal is to have a motivated workforce that reflects the company's values and goals. We rely on the 4 pillars of our human resources strategy:

  • Personality: Independence, desire to create, personal responsibility and freedom are important values for our employees.
  • Competence: Methods, technical or business skills are crucial to our success.
  • Equality: It is completely irrelevant what gender or origin our employees have. Our leadership culture is characterized by very flat hierarchies and the inclusion of employees.
  • Home office: Home office has been the rule since the company was founded in 1999.

The proportion of women among employees has increased slightly in recent years.

Ongoing training and further education for our employees is essential in order to adapt to the constantly changing world of work and keep pace with technical progress. We encourage and promote further training through our own SAP Learning Hub and by covering the costs for our employees.

This enabled us to significantly increase the number of employees who completed further training. This is also reflected in the hours spent on it.

SAP certifications

A program was set up to double the number of employees with valid SAP certifications.

Good jobs and economic growth

The number of hours worked was reduced by reducing overtime.

Health measures

We started the bike leasing project in the second quarter of 2022. The aim is to promote exercise and a better work-life balance. The cost of two bikes per employee is covered so that shared tours with family members are possible in their free time. The trip to the office should also be encouraged for employees who are not working from home.

In 2023, a workshop on the topic of “Prevention in a company setting” was held at KAMMACHI Day 2023 in collaboration with the cooperation partner Techniker Krankenkasse. The following topics were addressed in lectures and exercises:

  • correct ergonomics at the workplace (adjustment/positioning of chair, table, monitor, keyboard, mouse and light)
  • sufficient alternation between sitting and standing (“sitting is the new smoking”)
  • Breaks, walks
  • Fresh air
  • Movements & exercises to relax the musculoskeletal system during working hours (especially the spine)

Long-term employees

KAMMACHI has a low fluctuation rate with long-term employees. The reduction in employees who have been with KAMMACHI for more than 15 years is due to the transition to retirement or death.

Employer of the Future Award

KAMMACHI was recognized as an employer of the future by the German Innovation Institute for Sustainability and Digitalization.

Customers

More than 600 companies have trusted KAMMACHI's services and products since it was founded in 1999. The number of customers currently being actively supported is 105.

These are divided into customers who use our industry solution BAUSTEIN, customers who trust our SAP services and customers who use our SAP add-ins such as dubex, IDoc-Toolset, kapex or hcm-Toolset. Standing out here are our SAP service customers, who have been supported by us for 12 years on average. Product customers have been with KAMMACHI for an average of 6 years, since these products were only actively sold from 2011 onwards.

The target of an average duration of the customer relationship of 5 years has therefore been exceeded.

Innovation

The number of innovations in BAUSTEIN software reflects rapid development work. The goal of 10 innovations per year has been exceeded many times over and is the result of  adapting the software to new customers and existing customer needs.

Innovations in SAP add-in products were also significantly increased compared to the same period last year.

Cloud Strategy

KAMMACHI follows SAP in its cloud strategy. The first installation of SAP S/4 HANA Cloud private edition took place in 2023, with the industry software BAUSTEIN

Electricity

Power consumption could be reduced slightly. This was achieved through more energy-saving devices such as servers, network components or PCs and notebooks. The majority of the servers are not operated by ourselves, but by certified hosting service providers.

For over 10 years, KAMMACHI has been producing the electricity for the headquarters in Bühl itself using a photovoltaic system.

Gas

Gas consumption could be reduced through energy saving measures.

Motor vehicles

A large part of the carbon footprint is caused by the activities of our employees at our customers' offices. The number of hybrid and electric vehicles has remained constant, while the number of combustion vehicles has fallen. This is due to both the switch to trains and the reduced need for travel.

The consumption of CO2 through the use of company vehicles was further reduced.
