Max Bögl Group and KAMMACHI Develop Fully Integrated SAP S/4HANA Equipment & Tools Management Solution for the Construction Industry

To meet the demand for a fully SAP-integrated software solution for Equipment & Tools Management (ETM), Max Bögl Group and KAMMACHI Consulting GmbH have joined forces in a groundbreaking project. The goal is to make equipment management and all related processes in construction and project management more efficient, transparent, and digital.
The jointly developed BAUSTEIN ETM utilizes and extends SAP standard processes, making the solution fast and efficient – unnecessary clicks and transmission errors are avoided, and interfaces to third-party solutions are available.
BAUSTEIN ETM is characterized by its uncomplicated operation and maximum customer orientation thanks to individual customizing. This gives the user complete transparency about where each piece of equipment is currently located and what costs it incurs. Which equipment or materials are to be managed within the solution can be flexibly defined according to customer requirements.

Further highlights of BAUSTEIN ETM at a glance:

  • Real-time dispatch note creation: The solution always accesses the current inventory, thus avoiding negative postings.
  • Software of large equipment can be connected via interface.
  • Daily simulation of construction site costs to derive meaningful savings measures.
  • Option to work with a construction equipment list (BGL) and link the corresponding equipment.
  • Powerful evaluation function thanks to compressed inventory lists, utilization reporting, deployment lists, and individual billing options based on provision or performance and their simulation.
  • Tools like billing calendars enable quick and easy operation across multiple system objects.
  • Another use case is the inventory management of any equipment such as PCs or valuables: customers can easily and without a billing background record where equipment is in use and how it will be planned for the future.

Cooperation at Eye Level
In this multi-year pilot project, Max Bögl Group contributed comprehensive knowledge through key users and processes, while KAMMACHI provided the development work as an extension for its innovative SAP-based construction software BAUSTEIN. KAMMACHI was also responsible for consulting, coaching, training, as well as project management and implementation.
KAMMACHI BAUSTEIN ETM has been in operation at Max Bögl Group since October 2025 – the functional scope of ETM currently includes master data, picking, equipment dispatch, return dispatch, as well as billing, evaluation, and equipment rental to joint ventures (ARGEN). Further milestones are planned for 2026, such as a mobile solution including mobile picking, inventory evaluation, and improved information flow for construction site managers.

"With this project, we are setting a milestone in the digitalization of our equipment management," explain Harald Grimm, Head of Technical Service, and Petra Buttenhauser, IT Coordination, at Max Bögl. "Through close cooperation, we aim to significantly increase the efficiency of our processes and create a basis for future innovations."
KAMMACHI Consulting's Managing Director Gunnar Gerstmann adds: "Our goal is to develop a flexible, scalable, and future-proof software solution that meets the specific requirements of the construction industry. Through joint implementation, we have combined the best of both worlds: Max Bögl's specific construction and process expertise and KAMMACHI's know-how in development and SAP integration."
